AIMAS researchers receive the Best Paper Award at PRO-VE 2026
Research on collaborative AI agents for production negotiation receives international recognition at the 27th PRO-VE Conference in Padova, Italy.

Researchers from the AIMAS (AI Multi-Agent System for Autonomous Decision-Making in the Manufacturing Industry) project have been recognised with the Best Paper Award in the Young Scientist category at the 27th edition of the PRO-VE Conference, held in Padova, Italy.
The award-winning paper, entitled “Collaborative Agents for Production Negotiation in a Manufacturing-as-a-Service Environment”, presents an innovative multi-agent system designed to support collaboration between artificial intelligence agents and human decision-makers in complex production negotiation processes.
As manufacturing evolves towards increasingly flexible, customised and on-demand production models, negotiations between manufacturing service consumers and providers are becoming more complex. The proposed approach addresses these challenges by enabling intelligent agents to participate in negotiation processes, facilitating coordination, information exchange and decision-making while maintaining human involvement and oversight.
This research aligns with the principles of Industry 5.0, promoting human-centric artificial intelligence solutions that combine the analytical and autonomous capabilities of intelligent agents with human expertise and judgement.
The awarded paper is the result of a collaborative effort by Andy J. Figueroa, Beatriz Andrés, Raul Poler and Paco Santacatalina, and was developed within the framework of the MaaSAI and AIMAS research projects.
This international recognition highlights the relevance of multi-agent artificial intelligence systems for advancing collaborative and autonomous decision-making in manufacturing environments. It also reinforces the research objectives of AIMAS, which seeks to develop intelligent multi-agent solutions capable of supporting and coordinating industrial operations, improving adaptability, efficiency and responsiveness to changing production conditions.
The award represents an important achievement for the research team and contributes to the international visibility of the work being carried out at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and its Research Centre on Production Management and Engineering (CIGIP).
